Bespoke facilities
Port of Dover’s multi-user services act as a UK and European hub, closing the gap every day with cross docking from/to Europe under a T1.
Cargo Terminal is a specialised perishable terminal with state-of-the-art multi-chamber/multi-temperature-controlled warehousing located within the Port. Handling temperatures from +1 to 15 degrees Celsius, with 5,500 refrigerated storage pallets and a dedicated team with strong experience and expertise in handling temperature-controlled food items, the Port offers efficiency without sacrificing quality.
The secured terminal located in the western docks handles container and breakbulk cargoes along with volumes arriving or leaving via road. With this the Port offers a range of onsite value services such as labelling, packaging, and wrapping, VGM weighbridge and test weighing facilities, modern warehouse management system, mobile ripening, and temperature-controlled out-loading chamber. There is also a UK Border Force/Port Health and DEFRA examination facility and customs clearance services and expertise onsite.

As one of the main users of the service, Dover has proven to be a trusted and flexible partner providing a quality, reliable and strong customer focused service throughout the season. It has ensured that we have strong availability of stock into the UK melon market and a completely fresh product. We look forward to building on the successes of this season and taking our relationship even further in the future.
