About Us
Cargo Types
Dover Cargo Terminal is unrivalled in terms of its strategic location, efficiency and competitive pricing.
This potent combination makes the Port of Dover extremely popular with many of the leading European freight carriers from a wide range of cargo types, from perishables to aggregates.
Perishables Cargo
The Port has been growing connections around the world to bring fresh produce to the UK.
With our bespoke facility designed to support the perishable import market, we are able to cater to a wide-range of perishable produce, from our regular fruit imports to flowers from Europe, thanks to our temperature-controlled warehousing and 210 plug-in points for refrigerated containers.
Our warehousing has a capacity of 9,639m2 with 8 individually controlled chambers (5,500 pallets) with a maximum of 693 pallets per chamber. Exiting the warehouse, fresh produce moves through a temperature controlled out-loading area and leaves through one of 20 out-loading doors.
Our cross-docking, trailer-to-trailer and container-to-trailer opportunities and onsite UK Border Force/Port Health and DEFRA examination facility allow us to streamline transportation, minimise wait times for trucks and vessels and optimise trailer usage and capacity. The results include saving logistical miles, a green solution and faster to market quality fresh produce.

Agribulk
We are committed to providing our partners in the local agricultural industry with the support and assistance they need to connect in the global marketplace.
Working together with Kent crops, grain is regularly exported out to the EU, from Ireland to Germany and beyond. Every truck load of grain is quality tested onsite for bugs, moisture and protein which takes between 5-10 minutes. Successful grain is then taken to and loaded onto the vessel by our skilled and trusted handling team, which will handle anywhere from 4,000 to 7,000T of grain.

Aggregates, timber and steel
As the backbone of the UK’s infrastructure, here at the Port we are proud to be a stepping stone to bringing in the materials needed to build economies and strengthen communities.
While much of the construction materials that pass through the Port are destined to become integral in building the local area, our strategic roads and proximity to London means we’re in the perfect position to efficiently equip the country with the tools to build.
