The Dover Harbour Board is seeking to appoint a Non-Executive Director to work with the Board and Executives in implementing the ongoing Port strategy.
The Port of Dover handles millions of passengers, vehicles and tonnes of cargo every year. We are proud to be recognised as Europe’s busiest and most successful ferry port and to have thriving cruise, cargo and marina businesses. Our history is vast and the Port is continually developing to ensure our future. To oversee this, the Dover Harbour Board is responsible for the overall management and development of the Port, including the operation of the cargo and passenger terminals, the maintenance of harbour facilities and infrastructure, and the promotion of economic growth in the region.
About the Role:
The Dover Harbour Board is looking for a new Non-Executive Director that is excited by our plans to turn the Port of Dover into Britain’s Number One gateway port.
The role is remunerated and appointments are for a 3 year term with a further 3 year term extension possible with the approval of the board.
This important leadership position requires clear strategic and analytical thinking twinned with an ability to shape decisions across a competitive business spectrum that includes investment and asset management, digitalisation and funding as well as ensuring excellent customer delivery and consideration of a multitude of stakeholders.
Bringing your experience to the board table, you will join a team that is shaping and embracing the Board’s transformative thinking as we adopt technologies and build infrastructure to revolutionise the Port over the next 5 years. By doing so you will join a board that stewards this national business asset that remains vital to the UK’s economy.
