A bright future for Dover as investment continues with opening of Bella Vita at the Marina

11/10/23

Overlooking the new Marina and visiting cruise ships, and with stunning views across to the White Cliffs and Dover Castle, the new Bella Vita Italian restaurant has been popular since it opened recently after refurbishment.

The town’s latest Italian restaurant and bar, “where idyllic coastal beauty meets exquisite Italian flavours with an atmosphere that aims to make not just customers, but community”, resides in the previous Dover Patrol restaurant. It becomes one of only two Bella Vita concessions in the South East, with one other in Central London.

Bella Vita at Dover Marina joins eight other food and drink outlets now trading on the Port of Dover’s re-developed Western Docks, all of which have opened in the last two years. It is a stone’s throw away from the Dover Marina Hotel, which recently announced an expansion of nearly 50% due to increasing demand in the area.

Jason Ransley, Head of Property at the Port of Dover said:

“It’s an exciting time for the Port and Dover as a town. The huge re-development of our Western Docks saw our new marina open this year and expansive recreational spaces, which are now used for events and entertainment, so more people are coming to Dover to experience the coast.

Being less than an hour away from London, and with more exciting plans for further development, it’s a great time to invest in the area. We are delighted to welcome Bella Vita to the Waterfront and wish them every success.”

Hasan Dogan, owner of Bella Vita added:

“Our vision is to create a destination restaurant, bar and lounge where idyllic coastal beauty meets exquisite Italian flavours. We pride ourselves on celebrating the rich culinary history of Italian cuisine, from Sicily to Tuscany, within the beauty of Dover Harbour’s coastline.

Anchored by core values of authenticity and quality, we aim to create a venue that honours both land and sea, sourcing premium fresh ingredients from local farms and family-run businesses.“

The Port of Dover provides a wide range of mixed-use commercial and residential property to rent for anyone looking to establish a new business, relocate an existing business or considering moving to the Dover areas. For more information, go to www.portofdover.com/property.
