Promoting a healthier society for future generations and helping physical dreams become a reality for local young people, the new Port of Dover sponsorship scheme is now open for applications.
If you are under 18, live in the Dover area and are determined to compete in a Marathon or the Olympics, are part of a local sports group with an ambitious goal, or want to take your personal hobby to the next level, the Port of Dover sponsorship scheme can offer funding to help.
Christian Pryce, Chief Commercial Officer at the Port of Dover said:
“As the largest employer in the area, the Port is a major champion of positive health and wellbeing within our community. Our new sponsorship scheme will promote a happier, stronger, and more diverse society and inspire young people to achieve their physical ambitions.
Sport has always been a huge part of my life, from going to school in Kent through to today, so I know first-hand the amazing impact it has physically, mentally and socially. We hope that this small fund will empower future generations in their aspirations – we can’t wait to see where it takes you.”
We recognise that people or groups will have different requirements, from small or single pieces of kit or equipment to travel costs or any other one-off requirements. Our scheme is therefore tailored to be as flexible as possible in being able to support your needs.
There are three levels of sponsorship: gold (up to £5,000), silver (up to £2,500) and bronze (up to £500). In return for the sponsorship, the Port would expect visual branding and promotion through avenues such as social media, local press coverage led by the Port and presence of our logo on kit. This will form part of the application process.
*Please note that applications need to be submitted by a parent or guardian
