Port of Calais closed to shipping due to Industrial Action. UPDATE @ 12:10hrs OPERATION STACK IN PLACE
Due to the ongoing period of industrial action in France which commenced at 07:00 hrs today, Thursday 24 September, the Port of Calais remains closed to shipping. Ferry services to and from the Port of Dover are therefore still affected.
Operation Stack has now been implemented and all Freight Traffic heading for the Port of Dover must use the M20/A20 route. The Port of Dover is liaising closely with Kent Police.
The Port of Dover is open and tourist traffic bound for Dover is advised to use the M2/A2 route.
Customers are advised to contact their chosen ferry operator before travelling and consult the Port of Dover website (www.doverport.co.uk) or Twitter account (@PoD_travelnews) for the latest information.
