Port of Dover launches a new stakeholder group of 18–24-year-olds.

04/03/24

The Young People’s Port Network is open for applications today

If you are passionate about being the voice of today’s young minds, this is the perfect opportunity to have your say and impact the future of one of Europe’s busiest transport hubs, Dover and the wider community.

Through quarterly meetings you’ll input your views and ideas via group discussions and workshops, seeing them transform into plans and helping to shape business decisions. You’ll also attend the ACM (Annual Consultative Meeting), which is the biggest yearly meeting at the Port involving all stakeholders. The role will provide an excellent pathway to develop your professional skills and experience via an internationally recognised organisation.

Emma Williams, Human Resources Director at the Port of Dover said:

“This inspiring new project aims to create a powerful new community of young people to help shape a bright and innovative future for the Port. We strongly believe that this age group of 18–24-year-olds can empower each other and our wider port networks to share their unique personalities, ideas, and skills. Together, this will make a huge difference in the outcome of tomorrow and beyond.

We can’t wait to hear from you and create what I am sure will be a fantastic team of diverse and engaged individuals.”

This voluntary role will take place over a one-to-three-year period, with many benefits and incentives including career advice, opportunities for work placements, a voucher for attendance at the ACM, and behind-the-scenes tours to experience the Port’s dynamic operation first-hand.
