Six-Hour Pursuit Race

TThe Six-Hour Pursuit Race returns to Dover Harbour on Saturday 19 September 2026.

Cinque Ports Sailing Club is delighted to invite sailing clubs and sailors from across East Kent to take part in this exciting revival of a classic endurance race. Inspired by the legendary Courroie Sans Fin, the event has been re-imagined for today’s sailors, combining tactical racing, teamwork and endurance in one of the UK’s most iconic sailing venues.

With pursuit starts, every boat has the opportunity to race competitively, promising close racing throughout the day.

Gertrude Ederle 100th Anniversary Swim

The Port of Dover is very proud to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Gertrude Ederle’s historic English Channel crossing with a open water swim event at the Dover Sea Sports Centre on Monday 31 August from 10am to 5pm.

This event has been organised in partnership with Dover Lifeguard Swimming Club, the event honours Gertrude Ederle , the first woman to successfully swim the English Channel in 1926; a remarkable achievement that changed sporting history and inspired generations of swimmers.

Anyone can participate at any level. There are four swim waves ranging from a 500m novice swim to a faster pace 2km challenge. All participants will receive a commemorative Gertrude Ederle swim hat for their entry.

Music on The Curve

The Waterfront comes alive this May every Saturday and Sunday thanks to the brilliant sound of live music and stunning Dover Harbour backdrop with Music on the Curve.

Music on the Curve returns for 2026, running from May until the end of September, the Curve showcases and highlights local artists along with exciting performances from across the region. Whether your stopping by during a walk, meeting friends or family or looking to discover something new, the relaxed and family friendly atmosphere celebrates community, creativity and the unique spirit of Dover.

The Salty Dog Harbour Café

The café will serve great coffee, hot food, homemade bakes, cakes and iced drinks, with a simple, quality-led menu that works just as well for a quick stop as it does for a longer catch up with friends. 

Dogs are very much part of Salty Dog, with their own menu so they’re just as looked after, making it easy to drop in after a walk along the seafront . 

The Café is a friendly, welcoming place for all to sit down, refuel and enjoy the waterfront.
